Biographical notes:
Jarosław Tarnawski studied at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, in the organ class of prof. E. Karolak. In the years 2005–2008 he studied in the organ class of prof. J. Gembalski at the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. In 2012 he graduated from the Musikhochschule in Lübeck, in the class of prof. A. Gast. He took part in numerous master classes. He is a laureate of organ competitions, including the International K. Bossler Organ Competition in Heidelberg and the International Organ Competition "E.F. Walcker Preis" in Schramberg. He was twice a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as well as the Poschl-Stiftung. He was awarded the honorary badge "Meritorious for Polish Culture" by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
Dr. hab. Bogusław Jakubowski is a clarinetist, soloist and chamber musician, professor at the Academy of Art in Szczecin and teacher at the ZSM in Szczecin. Graduate of the clarinet class of prof. Zdzisław Nowak at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. Since 1991 he has been the first clarinetist of the Szczecin Philharmonic. He also often performs as a soloist and chamber musician. In 1999, together with B. Szczerkowski and T. Jocz, he won the Grand Prix of the Young Chamber Musicians Competition in Kłodzko. As a soloist, he has performed in Szczecin, Berlin, Hamburg, Moscow, Gdańsk, Sopot, Poznań, Warsaw, Wrocław, Greifswald, Kamień Pomorski, Kołobrzeg, Duszniki-Zdrój. He took part in many premieres of works by Polish composers: Janusz Stalmierski, Marek Jasiński, Zbigniew Kozub, Artur Cieślak, Piotr Pawlik, Szymon Godziemba-Trytek, Piotr Klimek and Waldemar Sutryk. In 2007 he recorded the album "Forgotten and new pieces for clarinet by Szczecin composers of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries". A year later he wrote a book of the same title, which also became the subject of his habilitation procedure. The next albums are: "Niezapominajki" - a poetic and musical spectacle to the poems of Anna Frajlich with music by Waldemar Sutryk (clarinet solo) 2012, "Robert Muczynski in memoriam" 2016 and a monographic album by the Szczecin composer Artur Cieślak with the Monolog for clarinet solo and Trio for clarinet, cello and piano 2019. He is a member of the wind quintet of the Szczecin Philharmonic FeelHarmony Quintet with which he recorded an album in 2014.
In 2020, his book "clarinet yesterday and today" (AM Poznań 2020) was published, which is the result of an international scientific conference held at the Academy of Art in Szczecin in November 2017.
An important area of activity is pedagogical work. Pupils and students actively participate in many concerts, competitions and festivals. He is also one of the originators and co-organizer of Szczecin events for young people: the West Pomeranian Clarinet Festival and the March Clarinet Competition. He also conducts classes as part of the Summer Academy of Wind Instruments in Myślibórz. For his achievements, in 2004 he received the Silver Cross of Merit from the President of the Republic of Poland, and in 2019 he was awarded the Gloria Artis medal. Tomasz Szczęsny, is a graduate of the K. Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław from the class of prof. St. Firlej (2002). Since 2006 he has been the concertmaster of the cello orchestra of the Szczecin Philharmonic. He has performed as a member of the orchestra and chamber ensembles in the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, the Philippines and the USA. He is an associate professor at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. Since 2013 he has been a member of the international project Visegrad Cello Quartet, and since 2018 – of the string quartet ExQuartet, with which he regularly gives concerts and records albums.
