Biographical notes:
Martin Schmeding
studied church music, music education, music theory, conducting, and recorder, harpsichord, and organ at the music academies in Hanover and Amsterdam. He is a laureate of international organ competitions (including Berlin, Bruges, Ljubljana, Lüneburg, Magdeburg, Nuremberg). Since 2015, he has been a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. He has made numerous recordings (including the complete organ works of J. Brahms, F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, M. Reger). He gives concerts in Europe, Asia, and both Americas. He gives master classes, is a juror at international competitions, and works as a conductor and composer. In 2017, he was awarded the title of "Professor of the Year" from among 2,500 candidates nominated by 250 German universities.
Jakub Jakowicz
at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw under the supervision of his father, Krzysztof. He was also the last student of T. Wroński. As a teenager, at the invitation of K. Penderecki, he performed in Kraków, performing his Capriccio per violino e orchestra under the baton of J. Maksymiuk. He is a winner of first prizes at violin competitions in Lublin, Wattrelos (France), and Takasaki (Japan). He has performed worldwide, including with renowned orchestras, including the National Philharmonic and Concerto Köln. As a chamber musician, he has formed a violin duo with his father for years, and since 2000, a duo with pianist B. Bednarczyk. He is a member of the Zehetmair Quartett, with whom he recorded the Diapason d'Or-winning album featuring works by B. Bartók and P. Hindemith. He is a two-time winner of the Fryderyk Award. He has performed and taught as a guest artist at the Australian Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne. He is a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Academy of Music in Katowice.
