Biographical notes:
Daniel Strządała is a graduate of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, in the Organ Class of Prof. W. Zaborny (2019). He participated in master classes (professors: J. Gembalski, M. Toporowski, R. Perucki, W. Szymański, P. van Dijk). He is the winner of many national and international awards in organ and harpsichord competitions (Katowice, 2016 – 1st prize, Rumia, 2018 – 1st prize, Opava, 2016 – 2nd prize (interpretation) and 1st prize (improvisation)). He gives concerts in Poland and abroad as an organist, harpsichordist, improviser and chamber musician; he has also expanded his interests to include conducting and composition. Since 2019, he has been an assistant at his alma mater, the Academy of Music in Katowice. Chamber Choir "Sofia" was founded in 2008 in Kyiv. Since the end of 2010, it has been led by O. Szamrycki. In 2011, the ensemble released its first album. The choir has performed the first performances of works by contemporary Ukrainian composers: L. Dyczko, V. Ronzhin, M. Stepanenko. The ensemble has participated in many international choral competitions (it won the International Festival of Orthodox Church Music in Hajnówka twice – in 2014 and 2018; in 2016 in Debrecen it received the first prize, a diploma for the conductor and a special award, in 2017 in Gorizia it won the Grand Prix and a diploma for the conductor, in 2018 it was a double laureate in Baia Mare as the winner of the first prize and the award for the best performance of a piece by L. Borlan). In 2022 he received the 1st prize and the Grand Prix at the International Choir Competition "Ave Verum" in Baden (Austria), as well as the 1st prize in Arezzo (Italy) and the Grand Prix in Tolosa (Spain).
Oleksij Szamryckiin 2005 he won his first competition (New Names of Ukraine, conducted the symphony orchestra). In 2006-2011 he studied at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine (class of prof. B. Petrychenko), from which he graduated with distinction. He is the laureate of the 1st prize at the 5th All-Ukrainian Competition of Choral Conductors (2011). In 2015 he gave concerts with the Sofia Chamber Choir in Germany (Weimar, Erfurt) and in Poland (Kraków, Lusławice, Warszawa, Białystok). In 2016 he became the main conductor of the Khreshchatyk Academic Chamber Choir and the choirmaster of the B. Latoshynskyi National Ensemble of Classical Music. In 2018 he received a grant from the President of Ukraine for the recording of B. Latoshynskyi's choral compositions.
